May 2, 2013. If Dr. Livingston had used a computer, I'm sure he would have thrown it away by now. It is hard to find the time and the computer. Today we had a wonderful experience riding the elephants at the Wilderness Horizons wildlife preserve. They take in and care for injured and orphaned animal, especially elephants. We have the opportunity to ride them through the park. Afterwards, we meet Sylvester the cheeta. I was lucky to pet him and he did not bite me. Then we have photo opps with everyone. They prepare a lovely breakfast for us on the veranda. From there we travel to a village. The chief greets all of us and shows us around his village. The main building is the kitchen. Everything happens here, cooking, cleaning , educating and even child birth. Men are not allowed in this building. Later in the afternoon, they take us to the Zambezi river for a cruise. This was so calm and peaceful and breathtaking. We did not get close to the falls. We were given a wonderful talk about David Livingston. Very informative. We had S.A. wine. From there we were taken to the lower gorge below the falls.. We were on a deck that over looked the river. We were served a formal and delicious diner and then treated to local dancing. What a wonderful day. Boy do we get tired.
